Follow the steps below to select a datasource data source to get data for the gadget.

- Log in to the dashboard using Carbon login credentials, if you are not already logged in.
- Click the following CREATE GADGET icon in the top menu bar.
- Select the input datasource data source as shown below. It can be either an analytics table or an event stream.
- Click Preview Data to view a preview of the datasource data source as shown below.
- Click Next.
