This section discusses a few key features useful in defining data service queries. Follow the instructions below to open the Queries page.

1. Log on to the product's management console and select "Data Service -> Create" under the "Main" menu.

2. The Create Data Service page appears. Fill in the fields and click Next. The Data Service name is mandatory.

3. The Data Sources page appears. Click on the Add New Data Source link, add your Data Source details and click Save.

4. After saving, the added data source page appears. Click Next to proceed.

5. The Queries page appears.

Initially your service does not include any queries. You can add a new query by clicking the Add New Query link. For information on adding queries, refer to the page relevant to the data source in section "Create a Data Service Using Various Data Sources."

The following sub sections describe a few key concepts used when adding queries:

Image RemovedData service queries are created after creating a data source at the time a data service is created. Through data service queries, you can define different ways of extracting data in the data sources and presenting the results. This section discusses, with examples, various features WSO2 Data Services Server provides in writing queries.

  1. Click Next to add a data source. Follow the instructions in Creating Datasources.
  2. Click Next to add a query to the data source.
  3. The Queries page appears. The query-writing options that appear on this page depend on the options you selected when creating the data source.
