Before you proceed to install the product, ensure that the Installation Prerequisites are satisfied.

Establish a an SSH connection to the Linux/Solaris machine or log in on the text Linux console. You should either log in as root or obtain root permissions after login via su or sudo command.

Step 1. Obtain Installation Pack

Download the latest version of the program (for downloading instructions, refer to  Obtaining the Product Building from Source section).

Step 2. Extract the Archive

If you leave the Management Console unattended for a defined time, its login session will time out. The default timeout value is 15 minutes, but you can change this in <PRODUCT_HOME>/repository/conf/tomcat/carbon/WEB-INF/web.xml file as follows:

Step 5. Stopping the Server

To stop the running server, simply hit Ctrl-C in the command window or choose the "Shutdown/Restart" link on the left-hand menu of the product's Management Console.
