Published: 8th November 2016
AFFECTED PRODUCTS
WSO2 Application Server 5.3.0
WSO2 Business Rules Server 2.2.0
WSO2 Dashboard Server 2.0.0
WSO2 Enterprise Mobility Manager 2.0.1
WSO2 Message Broker 3.1.0
OVERVIEW
Apache Axis2 1.6.2 and earlier versions do not verify that the server hostname matches a domain name in the subject's Common Name (CN) or Subject Alternative Name (subjectAltName) field of the X.509 certificate.
Apache Axis2 1.6.2 uses commons-httpclient-3.1.0 and host name verification should be enabled in the commons-httpclient.
This allows man-in-the-middle attackers to spoof SSL servers via an arbitrary valid certificate.
