The Governance Registry comes with three built-in gadgets (for more information about gadgets, see Adding a Gadget):
- The Impact Analysis Gadget
- The Service Impact Gadget
- The Lifecycle Stage Monitor Gadget
The Service Impact Gadget
(Named "Impact analysis" in the previous releases.) This gadget focuses only on services. Once you have selected a service name from the drop-down menu, it will show all versions of the service and the dependent WSDLs, Schemas, and Policies of those versions. All nodes in the gadget are clickable, and once you click on a node, you will be taken to the corresponding resource.
The Impact Analysis Gadget
This gadget shows the impact of a resource on the other resources. It will show the dependencies of that resource on other resources.
Note
This is a repetitive process, and the gadget will show all dependent resources of each related resource.
A path picker was added to the gadget so that the user does not have to enter the path manually. Also, the nodes in the Impact Analysis Gadget are clickable. Once you click on a node, it becomes the center node and all of its associations are displayed.
A main function of this gadget is the "Get usage" button/link located next to the path picker. Once you click this button/link, all of the resource's associations and relationships (including dependencies) will be displayed. You can switch views between dependencies and associations by clicking the button again.
Tip
This gadget can be zoomed in and out using the mouse wheel.
The Lifecycle Stage Monitor Gadget
The "Lifecycle" gadget shows the accumulated number of services in each lifecycle. A pie chart displays this data for each lifecycle. The drop-down list allows you to select any lifecycle that has been associated with at least one service resource on the registry. For each selection, the displayed chart shows the number of services associated with that lifecycle.
