Every service and service group deployed in the WSO2 Data Services Server has its own Dashboard for management and monitoring. Follow the instructions below to access the dashboard of a service.

1. Log on to the Data Services Server Management Console.

2.  Click the "Main" menu and select "List" under "Web Services."

3. The "Deployed Services" page appears which lists out all the currently active services. Select a service and click on it to view its dashboard.

A service dashboard provides the following information.

The "Service Details" panel provides the following details of a service:

  • Service Name - Defines the unique name of a service.
  • Service Description - Briefly describes a service.
  • Service Group Name - Defines the name of the group service belongs to. See more information about service groups in Managing Service Groups.
  • Deployment Scope
  • Service Type - Specifies service type (for example, Axis2, data services).

Try This Service

When you click "Try this service" link, you will be directed to the page where the operations available for your service will be displayed. When you give the parameters for the operation, a button corresponding to your service appears. You can check whether your service provides the desired output by using this option. For more information, refer to Try It in Data Services Server Tools section.

Generate Client

You can easily generate the client for your service using WSO2 Carbon. The WSDL2 code options are available on the WSDL2Java page in Data Services Server Tools section..

WSO2 Carbon provides a graphical view of the system response time.

This section provides two options to edit the data service.

  • Edit Data Service (Wizard)

This option lets you do modifications to the data service using the Management Console. The data service name cannot be edited. However, its configuration options, data source, queries, operations and resources can be edited. For information on editing/creating data services, refer to the Deploying Data Services section.

  • Edit Data Service (XML Edit)

This option lets you edit the data service by modifying its .xml file. Once clicked, the .xml file of the respective data service opens in the Management Console. For example,
