When you create data services and resources using WSO2 Data Services Server, you have the flexibility of service enabling data stored in various types of data storages. This is done by creating datasources for each of the data storage types used by your data service. The following topics describe the wide range of data storage types supported in WSO2 DSS, and the steps for adding these datasources to a data service:

WSO2 Data Service Server comes with the datasource management feature, which allows users to create any RDBMS datasource or custom datasource for the server. These datasources are used by the server to connect to databases or external data stores. See Managing Datasources for details. Therefore, when you create data services using WSO2 DSS, you also have the option of adding these pre-defined datasources, as explained in the Carbon Datasources topic.
