What's new in this release

WSO2 Enterprise Mobility Manager (EMM) version 2.2.0 is the successor to version 2.0.1. It contains the following new features, enhancements, and changes:

  • An alert mechanism to report critical events on Android devices
    WSO2 EMM Android agent is capable of sending out critical events to the WSO2 DAS server and plugging new event listeners to the Android agent. For more information, see Reporting Critical Events via Alerts.
     
  • App catalog application implementation
    Catalog application for Android provides an easy method for users to browse the app store and install/uninstall the applications. For more information, see Creating the Android App Catalog Application and Downloading Applications via the App Catalog Application.
     
  • System service application implementation
    A new service application that is capable of performing privileged tasks as the device owner.  For more information, see Integrating the Android System Service Application.
     
  • Application whitelisting/blacklisting
    Application policies can be defined to blacklist/whitelist applications on a device. For more information, see application restrictions.
     
  • Boot image management
    Schedule firmware updates with WSO2 EMM, making it easier for administrators to push updates to devices when the device is idle. For more information, see Upgrading Firmware of an Android Device.
     
  • Scheduled application Installation, uninstallation, and updates
    WSO2 EMM allows administrators to schedule and push application updates to devices when the device is idle. For more information, see Installing and Updating Mobile Apps.
     
  • Advanced device search capabilities
    Users can search for devices using the details acquired from a device. For example based on a device's geographic address. For more information, see Advanced Device Search on WSO2 EMM.
     
  • Device auto enrollment
    Auto enroll a device to make the enrollment process simple for the end user. For more information, see Auto Enrolling an Android Device
     
  • Ability to apply user restrictions on the device by the device owner
    WSO2 EMM supports user settings restrictions that can be applied to a device via the device owner. In WSO2 EMM, 30 new restrictions can be enforced on a device.
     

  • Support for iOS 10

Compatible versions
