The Enterprise Store, by default is shipped with three asset types, which are namely Gadgets, Sites and E-books. However, the Enterprise Store Back-office, empowers users to extend the Enterprise Store by adding their own customized asset types. For more information on adding customized asset types, see Adding a New Asset Type. In turn, users will be able to add new assets, to the customized asset types as well. The fields involved when adding customized assets will vary based on the nature of the asset. 

To add a new asset:

  1. Log in to the ES Back-office.
  2. Select the asset type from the Type drop-down list. For example, if you wish to add a gadget, select "Gadget".
  3. Click on the Add <Asset_Name> button. For example, if you wish to add a gadget, click Add Gadget.

  4. Enter all the required fields respective to adding an asset. The fields will vary based on the selected asset type. All the fields respective to the default assets have been described as follows:

    FieldDescription
    ProviderThis field is automatically filled in. It displays the username of the user who is adding the asset.
    NameThis is the name of the asset. A meaningful name should be provided.
    VersionThe version corresponding to the asset. This is useful to the user to differentiate between multiple versions of an asset.
    CategoryCategories are high level groupings of the assets. An asset can have only one category.
    URLThe URL of the location where the site/gadget has been hosted. When adding e-books, this depicts the location of the e-book on your machine, as e-books have to be uploaded.
    DescriptionSummarized information on the purpose of the asset.
    ThumbnailThe asset thumbnail image needs to be uploaded; therefore, navigate to the image on your machine.
    BannerThe banner thumbnail image needs to be uploaded; therefore, navigate to the image on your machine.
    TagsTags act as keywords that help to describe the asset. One asset can have more than one tags.
    AuthorThe author of the e-book.
    ISBNThe International Standard Book Number (ISBN) is a unique numeric commercial book identifier. 
  5. Click Create.
