If a service is still under construction, users can define it as a Work in Progress (WIP) to prevent it being listed as a faulty service. Faulty services are shown in the information bar of the Deployed Services Page. For information on faulty services, refer to the Accessing Services section.
A service can be defined as a WIP while creating it using the Management Console. Follow the instructions below to create a WIP data service.
1) Click the Save as Draft button after creating the data source for the service. For step by step instructions on creating data services, refer to Create a Data Service Using Various Data Sources page.
2) The data service will be deployed and displayed in the Deployed Services list.
Note that this service is not an active service. Therefore, the user is not given the TryIt and retrieve WSDLs options. However, the service will not be listed as a faulty service.
3) Click on the data service name to open its dashboard. In the dashboard, click the Edit Data Service (XML Edit) link to open the data service's XML Editor.
4) Note that the service's status is inactive.
5) You can activate this service by clicking the Activate link in the QOS Configuration panel of the dashboard.
Once active, the TryIt and WSDL links for the service will be available to the user on the Deployed Services page.
6) You can complete the service construction by editing the service using the Edit Data Service links in the Specific Configuration panel of the dashboard.
For step by step instructions on creating data services, refer to page.
