The WSO2 Carbon Metrics API allows you to monitor statistics of your broker server using Java Metrics. The Java Metrics library consists of a variety of metrics that can be used for monitoring. With the WSO2 Carbon Metrics API, we have enabled all the metrics that are required to effectively monitor WSO2 products.

See the topic on setting up WSO2 Carbon metrics for details on how metrics are enabled in the broker profile.

The metrics used in the EI Message Broker are categorized into JVM Metrics and Messaging Metrics. You can access them from the management console of your product as explained in the following topics:

  • JVM MetricsUsed for monitoring system statistics. These statistics are common to all WSO2 products.
  • Messaging MetricsUsed for monitoring MB-specific statistics.
