WSO2 Dashboard Server, enables to create any custom dashboards, with any preferred layout, and centrally manage and visualize these gadgets, which renders the data that you are interested in, as shown in the below diagram.

The following topics explain the Dashboard Server (DS) together with the business use cases that it solves:

What is the Dashboard Server (DS)?

WSO2 Dashboard Server (DS) provides a tool set to create dashboards and visualizations for enterprise requirements. Unlike traditional solutions, DS exposes the power of the server to the dashboard or the app developer. The configuration of the created dashboard is stored in JSON files, and developers have full flexibility to work with Jaggery APIs to retrieve, manipulate, and compose data. The dashboards can be created from the default layouts, which are packed with the default distribution, or the developer can create a blank layout and include gadget placeholders wherever he/she likes to create his/her own layout to visualize. Users can add any amount of pages per dashboard, and provide the anonymous user view and secured user view for those.

What does DS do?

In essence DS, aids developers and business users to create engaging user experiences. It provides a visual tool for business users to compose their dashboards. In addition, based on the business requirements, DS also enables to centrally manage the different sets of dashboards, and enable each user to have their own personalized view of those dashboards based on their user preferences.

What business use cases does DS solve?

The norm of the business is that "Data is worthless if you don't communicate it". DS solves exactly that use case, as it provides a platform that enables users to create dashboards with data.
