In server-roles manager, server-roles properties can be of two types

  • Default - All the server roles picked from that particular product instance's carbon.xml.
  • Custom - All other server roles added by the user.

Follow the instructions below to add a new server role.

1. Sign in. Enter your user name and password to log on to the ESB Management Console.

2. Click the "Configure" button to access the "Configure" menu.

3. From the "Configure" menu, select "Server Roles."

4. The "Server Roles" page appears. Click on the "Add New Server Role" link.

5. The "Add Custom Server Role" drop down menu appears. Fill in the "Role Name" field.

Note

You can add any textual name as a server role without special characters except underscore.

6. Then click the "Add" button.

7. The new server role is added and displayed in the server roles list.
