Installing Apache Maven on Solaris
In order to install the source distribution of WSO2 products, it is necessary to install the latest version of Apache Maven.
Note
Refer to  Installation Prerequisites for the list of all applications necessary to install and work with the WSO2 product you plan to use.
Follow the instructions below to install Apache Maven from the command line on Solaris.
Establish a SSH connection to the Solaris machine or log in on the console. You should either log in as root or obtain root permissions after login via su
or sudo
command.
Step 1. Download Apache Maven
You can use wget
to download the tar.gz
file directly to your server:
wget http://archive.apache.org/dist/maven/binaries/apache-maven-3.0.3-bin.tar.gz
Step 2. Extract the Distribution Archive
Use the following command to extract files from the obtained archive:
gunzip -c apache-maven-3.0.3-bin.tar.gz |tar xvf -
Step 3. Set Environmental Variables
Add the following lines to BASHRC file:
export M2_HOME=/opt/apache-maven-3.0.3 export PATH=${M2_HOME}/bin:${PATH}
Step 4. Check Installation
After installation check the version by command:
mvn -version
The system displays information on the Apache Maven version installed.
