Event Simulator tool is used to simulate predefined event streams. These event stream definitions have stream attributes. You use event simulator to create events by assigning values to the stream attributes and sending as events. This tool is useful for debugging and monitoring the event input/output adapters, execution plans and event formatters.
The steps below show how to use the event simulator tool:
- Log in to the CEP management console and select Event Simulator menu under the Tools menu.
Select the Event Stream from the drop down list, enter the attribute values and click Send. For example,
The fields of the above UI change depending on the attributes you defined in the event stream.The events are sent to the component (e.g., Event Adapter, Event Formatter , Execution Plan etc.) defined in the event stream.
