Personalizing the Dashboard
To personalize the dashboard, click on personalize icon, as shown in the below image.
In the Personalize Mode, you can:
Create new Gadget
Add existing Gadget
Following section will guide you through personalizing the Dashboard.
Create new Gadget
To create a new gadget, click on the 'Create new Gadget' icon.
This will give you the 'Add Gadget' wizard. Follow the below five steps, to create the gadget.
Step-1: Select Data Source:
As the first step of creating a gadget, you need to specify the data source which will pump data to the chart which you are creating.
Currently, you can only choose an RDBMS data source. Other options will be available in future releases.
Select RDBMS and click on 'Next'.
Step-2: Configure Data Source:
To proceed with this step, it is required that you have created and configured an RDBMS Data Source. If you have not done so already, you can quit the Add Gadget wizard, configure the data source and re-start with step-1.
Select the predefined RDBMS data source which contains the data for your chart. All the data sources that you have created will be listed here, so you can select the one you need. For example, the image below specifies 'TESTDB_MYSQL_DB' as the data source.
Step-3: Select Dataset:
In the SQL Statement field, specify the SQL query which will generate the required data for your gadget.
Step-4: Select a Gadget:
In this step, you can select among a variety of chart-templates to visualize your data. Pick a gadget and click 'Select Template'
Step-5: Preview:
In this step you can specify several attributes for your chart, such as X-Axis Label, Update Interval etc.
'Update Interval' attribute specifies how often the chart should get refreshed with the updates happened to data source.
After specifying required attributes, click preview. Finally click 'Finish'.
Add existing Gadget
You can insert an already configured gadget, by clicking on 'Add existing Gadget' icon.
The 'Add existing Gadget' wizard will allow you to select a gadget among the 'store items'
'Store Items' contain a set of gadgets which are pre-configured with data sources, axis-labels etc.
Select a gadget and click 'Add Gadget'.
You will see the per-configured gadget appearing in the CEP Dashboard, as shown in the below image.
