Publishing and Unpublishing a Policy

Publishing a policy

When a policy is published it will be in the active state. The active policies will be applied to the devices that register with EMM based on the Policy enforcement criteria.

Follow the steps given below to publish a policy:

  1. Sign in to the EMM console.
  2. Click View under POLICIES to get the list of the available policies.

    For more information, see viewing policies.

  3. Select the policy or policies that are not in the publish state and you wish to publish, by clicking on the respective policy. 

  4. Click Publish.

    Click YES to confirm that you want to publish the policy.

Optionally, click APPLY CHANGES to push the changes to the policies on the existing devices. For more information, see apply changes.

Do not click APPLY CHANGES unless you have completed all the changes required.

Unpublishing a policy

When a policy is unpublsihed it will be in the non-active state. Such policies will not be considered when applying policies to the device that registers with EMM.

Follow the steps given below to unpublish a policy:

  1. Sign in to the EMM console.
  2. Click View under POLICIES to get the list of the available policies.

    For more information, see viewing policies.

  3. Select the policy or policies you wish to unpublish, by clicking on the respective policy. 

  4. Click Unpublish.

    Click YES to confirm that you want to unpublish the policy.

 

Pushing the changes made to policies that have already been applied to devices.

Optionally, click APPLY CHANGES to push the changes to the policies on the existing devices.

Do not click APPLY CHANGES unless you have completed all the changes required.
