Working with Lifecycles

A lifecycle defines the various states of an asset type. When defining the RXT for an asset type, you can use the lifecycles that are shipped with WSO2 ES. However, if needed you can use a custom lifecycle, by defining the lifecycle in a SCXML file and loading the lifecycle to the corresponding asset type. Furthermore, ES supports permission transition in lifecycles, which enables the permissions associated with the asset type to change automatically based on the defined transition permissions when an asset type moves from one state to another. The following subsections contain more information on how to work with lifecycles in ES.
