Adding Devices to the DEP Portal
The Apple Device Enrollment Program (DEP) allows iOS devices purchased through the Apple DEP program and devices purchased outside the DEP program to be enrolled as supervised (DEP enabled) devices to a mobile device management system. You need to add the Corporate Owned, Personally Enabled (COPE) devices to the DEP portal.

Adding devices purchased via DEP
iOS devices that are purchased directly from Apple as DEP or COPE devices, can be added to your DEP account automatically. Follow the steps given below:
If you selected the Automatically Assign New Devices option when creating the virtual machine for the MDM server in the Apple DEP account, your devices are automatically added to the server you created. Therefore, you do not need to follow the steps given below.
The devices purchased outside DEP can be added manually to the DEP account. You need to plug in each device to a Mac and factory reset the device using THE Apple Configurator. Before you begin! You need to have the following to try out this option: Follow the steps given below:

Since you selected the Automatically Assign New Devices option when creating the virtual machine for the MDM server in the Apple DEP account, your devices are automatically added to the server you created.
