Configuring Users and User Stores
The user management feature allows you to create new users and define the permissions granted to each user. You can also configure the user stores that are used for storing data related to user management.
Create users and roles
Super Admin users can create, and manage users and user roles using the Management Console of the WSO2 Open Banking identity and access management component. The steps given below describe how to create a user and user role. Create users and roles for the bank staff, PSU, and TPP with the following permissions:

Before you begin,
Access the Management Console using one of the following URLs:
- For HTTP:
http://<HTTP_HOST>:9766/carbon
- For HTTPS:
https://<HTTPS_HOST>:9446/carbon
- For HTTP:
Enter the username and password.
You can use
admin
as the username and password for testing purposes.Click Sign In and navigate to the home page.
Let's get started!
Create a user role
Follow the steps below to create a user role:
- Click Main > Identity > Users and Roles > Add on the Management Console home screen.
- Click Add New Role.
- Enter a role name, e.g,
APIConsumer
and click Next.
- Select the necessary permissions, e.g., Admin Permissions > Manage > Subscribe and click Finish.
A success message is displayed.
Create a user
Follow the steps below to create a user:
- Click Main > Identity > Users and Roles > Add on the Management Console home screen.
- Click Add New User.
- Enter the username and password that can be used by the user to sign in to the WSO2 Open Banking solution.
- Click Next.
- Select the user role applicable for the created user, e.g.,
APIConsumer
.
- Click Finish.
A success message is displayed.
Configuring user stores
The user management feature also allows you to maintain multiple user stores for storing users and their roles. See the following topics for instructions:
