Reports

Reporting facility is provided by the following feature in the WSO2 feature repository:

Name : WSO2 Carbon - Reporting Feature
Identifier : org.wso2.carbon.reporting.feature.group

If the above feature is not bundled in your product by default, you can install it using the instructions given in section Feature Management. This feature allows to generate reports for data available in the database. To generate reports, the Reporting feature uses Jasper Reports in the following ways. For more information on Jasper Reports, refer to http://jasperforge.org/projects/jasperreports.

Using Pre-Designed Reports:

Allows to generate the jasper report directly without having to use any report designing tools. It has pre-designed, customizable report templates for report formats such as table type, bar chart type, pie-chart type, etc. Only a certain level of customization is supported on the templates. For more advanced customizations, the auto-generated jasper report file has to be edited or the 'Custom reporting' option should be selected for your reports.

Therefore, the pre-designed option is best suited for quick and easy report generation. It currently facilitates pdf, excel sheet, html type of reports.

Custom Reporting :

Here you have to create your own jasper report file (.jrxml file) by using a jasper report designing tool such as iReport and upload the designed file to WSO2 BAM server to generate the report out of it.
