Engaging and Disengaging Modules

You can engage/disengage modules globally ( applies to all services deployed in the server ), to a selected operation or a service using the management console UI:

Engaging modules globally

Follow the steps below to engage/disengage a module globally.

  1. Log in to the product's management console and select Modules -> List .
  2. The Deployed Modules page opens. Select a module to engage from list and click the Engage link associated with it.
  3. Confirm your request.  
  4. The engaged module appears in the Globa lly En gaged Modules list.
  5. Similarly, you can disengage the module by clicking the Disengage link associated with it in the Deployed Modules page

The WS-Addressing module is always globally engaged.

Engaging modules to a service

If you are using a service-hosting WSO2 product such as the WSO2 AS or WSO2 DSS, you can engage/disengage a module to a selected service deployed in the server, using the management console.

  1. Log in to the product's management console and select List under Services .
  2. The Deployed Services page opens. Click on a selected service.
  3. The service's dashboard opens. Click Modules in the Quality of Service Configuration panel.
  4. Select a module from the drop-down list and click Engage.
    By default, the following modules are listed in the drop-down list.
      
    • WSO2xfer-3.20 : Provides an implementation of WS-Transfer.
    • WSO2mex-3.20 : Provides MetadataExchange services for any service that the module is engaged to.
    • rampart-1.61-wso2v1 : Provides WS-Security and WS-SecureConversation functionality for Axis2, based on Apache WSS4J, Apache XML-Security and Apache Rahas implementations.
    • rahas-1.61-wso2v1 : Provides facility to STS-enable a service. It adds the RequestSecurityToken operation to a service that the module is engaged to.
    • sandesha2-3.20 : Implements WS-Reliable messaging.
  5.  After engaging to a service, you can disengage the module by clicking the icon associated with each engaged module.  

Engaging modules to an operation

If you are using a service-hosting WSO2 product such as the WSO2 AS or WSO2 DSS, you can engage/disengage a module to a selected operation deployed in the server, using the management console.

  1. Log in to the product's management console and select List under Services.
  2. The Deployed Services page opens. Click on a selected service. For example,
  3. The service's dashboard opens. Click Operations in the Quality of Service Configuration panel.
  4. The list of operations of the service opens. For example, 
  5. Click one operation. Its dashboard opens.  
  6. From the dashboard, select Modules.  
  7. Select a module from the drop-down list and click Engage.
  8. After engaging to a service, you can disengage the module by clicking the icon associated with it as follows.
