User Registration

User Registration in Gadget Server can be done in several ways. The user is given an option to create new user accounts, use their OpenID or Infocard accounts to register to the system.

User name/Password Based Registration

This is the traditional way in registering to the system.

1. Click on the sign-in link at the top, right-hand corner of the Gadget Portal.

2. You can sign-up using the link provided or log-in (if you are already a registered user).

3. Click the Sign-up with User Name / Password option.

4. Fill in the form and submit.

5. A confirmation appears if you are successfully registered.

Information Card Based Registration

For Windows environments (With Internet Explorer), WSO2 Gadget server provides Infocard-based authentication. The steps are as follows.

1. Click on the sign-in link at the top, right-hand corner of the Gadget Portal.

2. Click the OpenId or Infocard link.

3. Click the Sign-in with Information Card option to sign-in.

You can also sign-up with Self-issued Information Card. That option appears when you click the Sign-up link as shown below:

OpenID Based Registration

The WSO2 Gadget Server also provides OpenID as an authentication mechanism. Users can register to the system using their OpenID accounts.

1. Click on the sign-in link at the top, right-hand corner of the Gadget Portal.

2. Click the OpenId or Infocard link.

3. Enter your OpenID and click login.

4. You will be asked to associate the OpenID with your profile. Click the Sign-up link if this is the first login attempt. Users with OpenIDs are mapped with user accounts in the Gadget Server at the first login attempt.

5. Fill in the form and submit.

If you are successfully registered, from that point onwards, you can use the OpenID to sign-in.
