Promoting and Demoting Assets

Permission transition will take place, when an asset passes from one state to another. Thereby, not all users will have the required permission to promote or demote an asset from its current state. For more information, see Asset Life Cycle. Furthermore, If you wish to remove an asset from the Store, you will need to unpublish the asset by demoting the asset.

Follow the instructions below to promote or demote an asset:

1. Log into the ES Back-office using one of the following URLs:
   http://localhost:9763/publisher/
   https://localhost:9443/publisher/ 
2. Select the asset type from the Type drop-down list. For example, if you wish to promote a gadget, select "Gadget".

3. Search for the asset as follows:

   • Enter the full name of the asset, in the search text-box that is found on the right-side of the interface.
   • Click on the search icon.
4. Click on the asset. The selected asset overview will appear.
5. Click Life Cycle. The whole ES life cycle will appear.
6. Click on the respective state indicator in the life cycle, to promote or demote the asset from its current state to the next.
   Your action will be recorded in the life cycle history details.
