Promoting and Demoting Assets

Permission transition will take place, when an asset passes from one state to another. Thereby, not all users will have the required permission to promote or demote an asset from its current state. For more information, see Asset Lifecycle. Furthermore, If you wish to remove an asset from the Store, you will need to unpublish the asset by demoting the asset.

Follow the instructions below to promote or demote an asset:

1. Sign into the Store Back Office (Publisher).
2. Click the asset type button.
   
3. Click on the selected asset type. For example, click Gadgets.
   

4. Search for the asset as follows:

   1. Searching via the asset category:
      Select the asset category from the drop down on the left-side of the interface. By default you are shown all the categories of a selected asset type.
      
   2. Searching via the search text-box on the left-side of the interface:
      1. Enter the full name of the asset in the search text-box.
      2. Click the search button.
         
   3. Searching via the advanced search option:
      Click Advanced Search and fill in search form to search for your asset.
5. Click on the asset. The selected asset overview will appear.
6. Click Life Cycle. 
   
7. Click Promote or Demote to move the asset from its current state to the next. 
   Your action will be recorded under History.
