Editing an Asset

Follow the instructions below to edit an asset:

  1. Sign into the Publisher.
  2. Click the asset type button.
  3. Click on the asset type you wish to edit. For example, if you wish to edit a gadget, select Gadget.
  4. Search for the asset.

  5. Click on the asset you wish to edit. The selected asset overview will appear.
  6. Click Edit. 
  7. Edit the asset details as required. The fields will vary based on the selected asset type. The Provider, Name and Version can not be edited. All the fields respective to the default assets have been described as follows:

    OverviewProvider This field is automatically filled in. It displays the username of the user who is adding the asset.
    NameThis is the name of the asset. A meaningful name should be provided.
    VersionThe version corresponding to the asset. This is useful to the user to differentiate between multiple versions of an asset.
    CategoryCategories are high level groupings of the assets. An asset can have only one category.
    URLThe URL of the location where the site or gadget is hosted.
    DescriptionSummarized information on the purpose of the asset.
    ImagesThumbnailThe asset thumbnail image needs to be uploaded; therefore, navigate to the image on your machine.
    BannerThe banner thumbnail image needs to be uploaded; therefore, navigate to the image on your machine.
    TagsTags act as keywords that help to describe the asset. For more information, see Working with Tags.
  8. Optionally, update the Taxonomy nodes that are applied to the asset. For more information, see Updating the Taxonomy nodes of an asset. 

    The Taxonomy option will be available ONLY if the Publisher has applied Taxonomy nodes to the asset type to which the asset you are editing corresponds.

  9. Click Update.
