Enabling XMPP-Based Authentication for OpenIDs

Once you log in to the Identity Server, you can configure it to enable XMPP-based authentication for OpenIDs.

1. Sign in to the Identity Server Management Console as described here.

2. Select "Multifactor Authentication" under "My Identity."

3. To enable XMPP-based Multifactor Authentication, select the check-box "Enable XMPP based multi-factor authentication." The other required fields will then be enabled.

Note

XMPP-based Multifactor Authentication will be activated only if this check-box is checked.

4. Select the preferred "XMPP Provider" from the combo box.

5. Specify the user name corresponding to the "XMPP Provider" mentioned above.

Tip

The user name, along with the provider's extension, should be specified here. For example, "wso2ISuser@xmpp-provider.com."

6. Enter a "PIN Number" which contains more than six characters, and re-enter the same PIN number.

7. The check-box "Use the PIN number for authentication" is used to specify whether the PIN number should be used in the authentication process. If this is checked, then the PIN number should be provided in the authentication process. If it is not checked, a "yes/no" type of response is expected in the Multifactor Authentication process.

8. Finally, click the "Add" button.

9. A notification will then pop up, announcing the status of the operation. After the successful completion of this process, you will receive with a notification that looks similar to the following. Click "OK."

Tip

Once these settings are added, it is possible to modify the settings whenever required. Simply make the necessary changes and click the "Save" button.
