Adding a New User

The WSO2 Gadget Server allows you to add new users to the system, specify their passwords, and assign roles to them.

Follow the instructions below to add a new user account and configure its role.

1. Log on to the Gadget Server Management Console.

2. In the "Configure" menu, click "Users and Roles" to access "System User Store."

3. The "User Management" window opens. Click the "Users" link.

Note

The "Users" link is only visible to users with "Admin" permissions. It is used to add, modify or delete user accounts.

4. Click on the "Add New User" link.

5. The "Add User" window opens. Enter the user name and password.

If you want to add the user with the default "Everyone" role, click "Finish" and proceed to Step 6.

ELSE

Click "Next" to define a user role other then default "Everyone" role.

Note

Due to the inherited behaviour of default user store, which is embedded-ldap, user names are case insensitive in 3.2.0 based carbon products

6. The next  window opens. 

Select the roles you want to assign to the user by selecting the appropriate check-boxes. You can also use the "Select all"/"Unselect all" buttons to manage the roles assigned to the new user. 

7. Click "Finish" once done.

8. A new user account is created with the specified roles. The user name is displayed in the "Users" list.
